Find out what your market pays without asking your TPA for anything.
We price a fixed basket of common services against what each major carrier publishes in your market. No claims file, no data agreement, no waiting on anyone. You see where the carriers actually sit against each other, and where your likely facilities land against the middle.
Runs entirely on rates insurers and hospitals are required to publish under federal law. We need your metro and your carrier. Nothing else.
You get the market. You don't get your plan.
What the carriers in your market actually charge.
- A fixed basket of common services, priced against each major carrier’s published rates, compared only where two carriers price the same service at the same hospital, so the hospital differences out.
- Where the spread is widest: the services where carrier choice moves the most money in your geography.
- How the facilities your members are most likely to use price against the market middle.
- A live walkthrough of the method, so you can push back on it. Yours to keep either way.
Anything about your own plan.
- What your plan actually spends, and on what. That’s in your claims, and we haven’t seen them.
- Your savings number, how much of the market spread your plan is actually exposed to.
- Which levers apply to you, in what order, and what each one is worth.
- The access trade-offs and the execution playbook.
We give the market read away because it costs us almost nothing to produce. It runs on rates that are already public. What it can’t tell you is what your own plan is doing with those rates. That takes your claims, and that’s a conversation rather than a download.
Three steps, and nothing to hand over.
Tell us your market
Your metro and your current carrier, on a short call. We also ask who your advisor is, so we can bring them in from the start if you want them there.
We price the basket
A fixed set of common services, priced against every major carrier’s published rates in your market. Where a lane can’t be compared cleanly, we say so and leave it out rather than estimate it.
We walk you through it
On a call, not in a PDF you have to interpret. What the spread looks like, where your carrier sits in it, and what it would take to find out what your own plan is doing.
Nothing but your market and your carrier. The market read uses only rates that insurers and hospitals are required to publish under federal law, no claims file, no data-use agreement, no request to your TPA. If you later decide to look at your own plan, that runs on de-identified claims, and we’ll walk you through exactly how that works before you send anything.
Across four beta plan sponsors, from small to large, we identified $54M in potential savings on $426M of plan spend. Opportunity turned up in all four.
The highest rate in the group, up to 21.6% of plan spend, needed no carrier switch at all. That’s what the paid analysis found once we had their claims, the market read is the step before it.
Two ways to go further.
Bring them into the room.
Most employers already have a broker or consultant they trust. Bring them. We walk through the market read together, they keep the relationship and the strategy, and we supply the analysis underneath. Nothing about this replaces the advisor you already have, and if their firm licenses the platform, your plan pays a lower rate.
We'll introduce you to one.
If you don’t have an advisor, tell us your market and we’ll introduce you to a firm trained on the platform that uses it with its own clients. If you do have one and want the work independently verified, that’s a job your committee can commission openly, and one we would rather do with your advisor in the room than behind them.
Start with a short call
We run these one at a time, with a person on the line. Twenty minutes to take your market and your carrier, then we price the basket and walk you through what it shows.
Twenty minutes. Your metro, your carrier, and who your advisor is. Bring them if you have one.
Entirely on published rates. Nothing leaves your building, because we never ask for anything.
We show you the spread, where your carrier sits, and how the method works. Yours either way.
Built for self-insured plans. A fully insured group can still see the market read, but the decisions it informs sit with the carrier rather than with you.
What employers ask first.
Why is it free?
Because it runs on rates that are already published, so it costs us very little to produce. It also answers the question most employers actually open with, is my carrier priced well?, without asking them for the one thing they usually can’t get. What costs real work is your own plan, and that’s what people hire us for.
What data do you need from us?
For the market read, none. Your metro and your current carrier is the whole ask. If you go on to a plan analysis, that runs on de-identified medical and pharmacy claims, and we walk you through the handoff before anything moves.
How is this different from what our carrier or broker already shows us?
Your carrier reports how your plan performed against its own network. Your broker interprets that. Neither can price the carrier you aren’t on. The market read compares carriers against each other on the same services at the same hospitals, a view that has to come from outside the relationship, because nobody inside it has it.
Do I have to switch carriers to act on this?
No. In our beta engagements the highest savings rate, up to 21.6% of plan spend, required no carrier switch at all. It came from repricing, site of service and reference pricing. The market read tells you whether carrier choice is worth examining. It doesn’t assume the answer is yes.
Will you contact my broker or carrier?
Not unless you ask us to. We do ask who your advisor is, because most employers would rather have them in the room, and if their firm already licenses the platform, we route the conversation to them rather than around them.
What if we don't have an advisor?
You can work with us directly, and the direct rate stands on its own. If you would rather have an advisor in your corner, tell us your market and we’ll introduce you to a firm trained on the platform that uses it with its own clients.
See what your market pays.
Tell us your metro and your carrier. That’s the entire ask.
